The Mega Highways Project is the single largest road sector project in the country taken up under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework. Road Infrastructure Development Company of Rajasthan Ltd. (RIDCOR) was incorporated as a 50:50 joint initiative of Government of Rajasthan (GoR) and Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Ltd. The Project Highway is a section of the National Highway-24, starting from km post 148.000 and ending at km 262.000 on NH-24, in the states of Uttar Pradesh, India (hereinafter, referred to as the Project Highway), and making a total length of 121.8000 km .This existing segment is two lanes for last decade. Project road lies between 28°47’ N, 78°45’ E to 28°25’ N, 79°26’ E. The Project Highway passes through three districts of Uttar Pradesh, viz. Moradabad, Rampur and Bareilly. There are major urban centers like Rampur, Milak, Mirganj, Fatehganj etc. and many semi-urban centers along the Project Highway. The Project Highway is joined and/ or intersected by some National Highways and a number of State Highways (SH), Major District Roads (MDR), and Other District Roads (ODR). The Project Highway is also crossed at seven locations by railway lines. This highway in its immediate influence area serves as the main arterial road on which small traffic streams merge at different locations of the Project Highway.
